THE PROCESS: Great design involves communication, function, exploration, creativity and the development of ideas—it is a collaborative process between the client and the designer. The functionality of the end product is as crucial as a visually pleasing and eye-catching design. How will the piece target the audience? Is the message clear and effective? Does the design align and strengthen the brand? Is the web site easy to navigate and invite the user in? Looking at all sides of a problem lets you arrive at the best possible solution.
Before work begins it is important to explore and choose the right medium for the clients market. For example, a client may initially ask for a brochure, but after reviewing their current branding we may have to step back and redefine their brand. Or instead of a brochure it may better serve them to have a web site--we offer clients custom sites with CMS and WordPress options.
With the end goals in mind, a combination of imagery, colors, paper and creative typography is used to develop a design with impact. Furthermore, adding interactivity my also enhance the end users experience.
IN THE END: Producing results that works for my clients, while leaving me satisfied my best work is done is my goal. My passion for design, color, texture, paper and typography inspires me to keep exploring in both graphic design and metals.
